SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston (City) and Montrose Redevelopment Authority (Authority) to rebuild sidewalks along Waugh Drive and Commonwealth Drive from West Gray Street to Westheimer Drive.
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the City and Montrose Redevelopment Authority (Authority) to rebuild sidewalks along Waugh Drive and Commonwealth Drive from West Gray Street to Westheimer Drive and appropriate funds.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project is between the City and the Authority whereas both parties recognize the need for improvements along Waugh Drive and Commonwealth Drive from West Gray Street to Westheimer Drive to rebuild sidewalks according to the latest city standards.
DESCRIPTION: The project consists of rebuilding sidewalks located along Waugh Drive and Commonwealth Drive from West Gray Street to Westheimer Drive. The Authority shall be responsible for hiring a contractor to undertake the project.
LOCATION: The project area is located along Waugh Drive and Commonwealth Drive from West Gray Street to Westheimer Drive.
SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT AND FEE: Upon completion of the Project, the City shall reimburse the Authority for a portion of the total project in an amount not to exceed, $30,000.00 on the basis of Project invoices submitted by the Authority and approved by the Houston Public Works Director, showing work performed on the Project and the corresponding itemized actual costs or expenses of that work.
The Project cost will be charged to District C's Council District Service Funds (CDSF). The total requested appropriation is $31,500.00 to be appropriated as follows: $30,000.00 for project cost and $1,500.00 for CIP Cost Recovery. The appropriation for CIP Cost Recovery is necessary to fund project management cost but will not be charged to the CDSF.
FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
ACTION RECOMMENDED: It is recommended that City Council adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the City and the Authority and appropriate funds.
