RECOMMENDATION: Approve and authorize a License Agreement between Bayou City Event City, LLC (Licensor) and City of Houston (Licensee) for use of a facility located at 9401 Knight Road, Houston, Texas 77045, for the operation of a COVID-19 mass vaccination site for the City of Houston.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The Houston Health Department (HHD) recommends approval of a License Agreement with Bayou City Event Center, LLC for use of a facility located at 9401 Knight Road, Houston, Texas 77045, for the operation of a COVID-19 mass vaccination site. The License Agreement will commence on the date of countersignature of the City Controller and end June 30, 2021. The license fee is $1,500 per day for a total cost not to exceed $90,000.00.
HHD receives a large number of COVID-19 vaccines on a weekly basis from the state so it can vaccinate a high volume of people. This parking facility is large enough to allow HHD to operate a mass COVID-19 vaccination site. It is necessary for this operation to continue because of the urgency to offset the impact of COVID-19 in the community.
