Summary:

ORDINANCE finding and determining that public convenience and necessity no longer require the continued use of an 8,522 square foot portion of Finch Street, f/k/a Hardin Street, from Elser Street  east to its terminus, located in Irvington Place, out of the John Austin Survey, Abstract No. 1, Houston, Harris County, Texas; abandoning said street portion to 4111 ROBERTSON, LLC, the abutting owner, in exchange for its payment to the City of $87,777.00, and other good and valuable consideration - DISTRICT H - CISNEROS

Background:

SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of Finch Street (formerly Hardin Street) from Elser Street east to its terminus, located in Irvington Place, out of the John Austin Survey, A-1.  Parcel SY19-059

 

RECOMMENDATION:  It is recommended City Council approve an ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of Finch Street (formerly Hardin Street) from Elser Street east to its terminus, located in Irvington Place, out of the John Austin Survey, A-1.  Parcel SY19-059

 

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:  Ali Firouzbakht, Managing Partner of 4111 Robertson LLC, 6311 Westchester Avenue, Houston, Texas   77005, requested the abandonment and sale of Finch Street (formerly Hardin Street) from Elser Street east to its terminus, located in Irvington Place, out of the John Austin Survey.  4111 Robertson LLC, plans to incorporate the requested street easement into its abutting property for a future housing development.  The Joint Referral Committee reviewed and approved the request.

 

4111 Robertson LLC has completed the transaction requirements, has accepted the City’s offer, and has rendered payment in full.

 

The City will abandon and sell to 4111 Robertson LLC:

 

Parcel SY19-059

 

8,522 square feet of street easement                  $87,777.00 (R)

Valued at $10.30 per square foot x 100%

 

TOTAL ABANDONMENT AND SALE                $87,777.00  (R)       

 

Therefore, it is recommended City Council approve an ordinance authorizing the abandonment and sale of Finch Street (formerly Hardin Street) from Elser Street east to its terminus, located in Irvington Place, out of the John Austin Survey, A-1.
