Summary:

ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 2020-0288 (Passed on April 1, 2020) to change the testing laboratory contractor from COASTAL TESTING LABORATORIES to ASSOCIATED TESTING LABORATORIES, INC for the contract awarded to GRAVA, LLC (Approved by Ordinance No. 2020-0288)

Background:

SUBJECT: Ordinance amending an Ordinance for testing services in a construction contract for a Sidewalk Program Work Authorization Project.

 

RECOMMENDATION: Approve an Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 2020-0288 to change the testing laboratory contractor from Coastal Testing Laboratories, Inc. to Associated Testing Laboratories, Inc., for the Sidewalk Program Work Authorization Project awarded to Grava LLC.

 

Specific Explanation: On April 1, 2020 by Ordinance No. 2020-0288, City Council awarded a Construction Contract to Grava LLC. for Sidewalk Program Work Authorization Project which is a part of the continuing effort to construct request-based sidewalks throughout the City to meet the needs of its residents.  Coastal Testing Laboratories Inc. was chosen as the testing services company when the original Contract Award for Sidewalk Work Authorization Project was awarded. Coastal Testing Laboratories, Outline Agreement Number 4600014292, contract has expired; the consultant chose not to renew their contract.

 

On March 1, 2017, by Ordinance No. 2017-0124, City Council approved a Professional Materials Laboratory Agreement to Associated Testing Laboratories, Inc., to support testing laboratory services identified in construction contracts. The change to the Ordinance will be to include Associated Testing Laboratories to continue to support services within the construction contract. The Outline Agreement Number to be included in the amended Ordinance for Associated Testing Laboratories is 460001428. The change to the Ordinance is being made prior to work commencing on the project. No additional funding is required for this contract. 

 

It is recommended that City Council approve an amending Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 2020-0288 to change the testing laboratory contractor to Associated Testing Laboratories, under the Outline Agreement Number of 4600014288. 


 

Fiscal Note: No significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of the project.
