The Chief of Police for the Houston Police Department recommends that City Council approve an ORDINANCE to appropriate $374,117.00 from the Equipment Acquisition Consolidated Fund (1800). It is HPD's intention to work with the Strategic Purchasing Division on any purchases to ensure all procurement rules are followed and will either purchase from existing contracts or return to City Council for additional approval.

This project is to refresh hardware and software that has reached the end of their useful life. These items support daily public safety operations to maintain network operation and security, applications, data storage and cloud technologies. This project will also assist in the evaluation, design and implementation of additional computer storage, networking and cloud technologies due to the increased demand of implementing technology solutions for Public Safety operations.
Fiscal Note:
Funding for this item is included in the FY2020 Capital Improvement Plan. No significant Operating impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
