SUBJECT: Pass a resolution amending Resolution No. 2018-0018 supporting the Request of Waiver of Local Match Participation for the Federal Off-System Bridge Program administered by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to correct the local match participation.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve a resolution amending Resolution No. 2018-0018 supporting the Request of Waiver of the Local Match Requirements in the Federal Off-System Bridge Program to correct the estimated amount of the local participation.
PREVIOUS HISTORY AND SCOPE:
City Council approved Resolution No. 2018-0018 on March 7, 2018 supporting the City of Houston’s request for Waiver of the Local Match Participation Requirements for the Federal Off-System Bridge Program. This project is part of the Federal Off-System Bridge Program which is administered by TxDOT to replace or rehabilitate structurally deficient and functionally obsolete bridges located on public roads and streets not located in the designated state highway system.
Under this program, the usual fund participation ratios for projects are 80 percent federal, 10 percent state and 10 percent local government. The approximate cost will be $379,940.00, a resolution is needed to correct the estimated amount of the local fund participation requirements on the Participation-Waived Project from $240,000.00 to $37,994.00 (10%) of the approximate cost.

The City will replace the above existing deficient 1 span bridge with a single barrel concrete box culvert crossing, which will cost approximately $379,940.00. The local match participation requires for the reconstruction of the Participation-Waived bridge is $37,994.00.
ACTION RECOMMENDED: It is recommended that City Council approve a resolution amending Resolution No. 2018-0018 supporting the Request of Waiver of the Local Match Requirements in the Federal Off-System Bridge Program to correct the estimated amount of the local match participation.
