SUBJECT: Amending Ordinance Number 2017-748 passed on September 27, 2017 to include the acquisition of additional Parcels AY19-200, AY19-332, AY19-333, AY19-334, AY19-335 and LY19-023 for the HILLCROFT AVENUE AND COURT ROAD EXTENSION PROJECT by dedication, purchase, or condemnation.
RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) Authority be given through an Ordinance to Amend Ordinance Number 2017-748 which passed on September 27, 2017, to authorize and approve the acquisition of additional Parcels AY19-200, AY19-332, AY19-333, AY19-334, AY19-335 and LY19-023 for the HILLCROFT AVENUE AND COURT ROAD EXTENSION PROJECT by dedication, purchase, or condemnation.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
The project consists of the construction of Fort Bend Parkway northbound and southbound frontage roads, and an extension of Court Road from Quailynn Road east to the proposed southbound Fort Bend Parkway frontage road. There will also be an extension of water lines and storm water drainage systems along each roadway corridor. These improvements will upgrade existing roadway to Major Thoroughfare and Freeway Plan (M.T.F.P.) standards and will improve traffic circulation, mobility and drainage in the service area.
By Ordinance Number 2017-748, passed September 27, 2017, City Council authorized and approved the acquisition of Parcels by dedication, purchase, or condemnation for the Hillcroft Avenue and Court Road Extension Project. Since those ordinances were passed Parcels AY19-200, AY19-332, AY19-333, AY19-334, AY19-335 and LY19-023 have been added to the project.
Therefore, it is recommended that Council Ordinance Number 2017-237 be amended to include Parcels AY19-200, AY19-332, AY19-333, AY19-334, AY19-335 and LY19-023.
