RECOMMENDATION: Appropriate funds for the project.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The General Services Department recommends that City Council appropriate $49,400.78 out of the Miscellaneous Capital Projects/Acquisitions CP Series E Fund for Hurricane Harvey Damage Repairs for North Command Police Station, for the Houston Police Department.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: On August 26, 2017, flood waters from Hurricane Harvey inundated the administration building and the vehicle maintenance garage of the North Command Police Station. The buildings also experienced water damages due to roof leaks and water infiltration through the window sills, caused by heavy, wind-driven rain during the storm. The project will remove and replace gypsum board, acoustical ceiling tiles, data port outlet, fire alarm pull station, door stop, thresholds, weathering railing and batt insulation; install new rubber base and carpet tiles; professionally clean carpet; and reseal metal frame windows and skylights.

DISASTER RECOVERY NOTE: This item is related to the impact of Hurricane Harvey DR4332, and it is the City’s intent to seek reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) and other eligible sources for such expenditures.
CIP FISCAL NOTE: No significant Fiscal Operating impact is anticipated as a result of this project.
