Summary:

RECOMMENDATION from Director Houston Public Works for purchase of Parcel KY17-055, located at 3300 North Sam Houston Parkway E., owned by Hydril Company, for the easement acquisitions for 108-Inch Water Line Project from Vickery Drive to Milner Road

Background:

SUBJECT:  PROPERTY: Purchase of Parcel KY17-055 located at 3300 North Sam Houston Parkway E., Houston, Texas 77032 for the EASEMENT ACQUISITIONS FOR 108-INCH WATER LINE PROJECT (from Vickery Drive to Milner Road).

 

RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) Authority be given through Council Motion to PURCHASE Parcel KY17-055.

 

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:

The Easement Acquisitions for 108-Inch Water Line Project (from Vickery Drive to Milner Road) is part of the proposed Northeast Transmission Water Line (NETL), a multi-year undertaking which will provide treated surface water throughout the City and also to several water authority jurisdictions throughout the Houston area including, North Harris County Regional Water Authority and Central Harris County Regional Water Authority.  This project will aid in the City’s water source conversion from primarily groundwater to surface water in order to comply with the Harris-Galveston Coastal Subsidence District’s regulatory plan. 

 

The City will acquire 27,927 square feet of water line easement on Parcel KY17-055.  The City’s offer was based on an appraisal by Michael J. Urban, MAI, SRA.  The breakdown of the purchase amount is as follows:

It is recommended that authority be given through Council Motion to PURCHASE the land and improvements thereon for Parcel KY17-055 located at 3300 North Sam Houston Parkway E., owned by Hydril Company.

 

Parcel KY17-055 contains 0.6411 acres or 27,927 square feet of land situated in the W.C. RR. Co. Survey, Abstract No. 934, Harris County, Texas, being out of and a part of a called 31.061 acre tract of land conveyed to Hydril Company, LP as described in a deed recorded under Harris County Clerk’s File No. (H.C.C.F. No.) V510341 of the Official Public Record of Real Property Harris County (O.P.R.R.P.H.C), according to City of Houston approved field notes.
