Specific Explanation:
The Director of Houston Public Works and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that City Council approve various awards, as shown below, in the total amount of $853,825.56 for portable trailer mounted trash pumps for Houston Public Works and that authorization be given to issue purchase orders.
These awards consist of twenty-one various sizes of portable trailer mounted pumps that will be used by the Department’s maintenance crews to conduct repairs at designated plants and facilities. These portable trailer mounted pumps will come with a one-year warranty and the life expectancy is 10-15 years. The existing pumps will be dismantled and all salvageable components will be inventoried to repair comparable pumps. The non-working components will be transferred to the Property Management Office for disposal.
This project was advertised in accordance with the requirements of the State of Texas bid laws. Nine (9) prospective bidders downloaded the solicitation document from SPD’s, e-bidding website and seven (7) bids were received as outlined below:

Funding for this item is included in the FY2020 Adopted Budget. Therefore, no Fiscal Note is required as stated in the Financial Policies.
