RECOMMENDATION from Fire Chief to approve the sale of Decommissioned Firefighting Bunker Gear and Fire Hose to the “Sister City” of Guayaquil, Mexico

Background:

Adopt a Motion approving the sale of decommissioned firefighting bunker gear and fire hose to the “Sister City” of Guayaquil, Mexico.

 

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION

The Fire Chief recommends that the City Council adopt a motion approving the sale of decommissioned firefighting bunker gear, radios, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), miscellaneous materials, and fire hose for the sum of $1.00 to the “Sister City” of Guayaquil, Mexico.

 

The Texas Constitution authorizes a municipality to donate decommissioned bunker gear and fire hoses to a developing country.

 

Following the adoption of a motion, the Director of Finance will execute a Bill of Sale which will hold the City not responsible for any injury or damage to any person or property arising in connection with this equipment.
