On February 20, 2019, City Council passed Item #15 related to Ordinance No. 2019-90 authorizing a grant application to the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor of Texas (“CJD”) for the Juvenile Case Manager for Truancy Prevention and Intervention Program.

The purpose of this ordinance is to add the written assurance language to Ordinance 2019-90, that, in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, the governing body will return all funds to CJD, as required by CJD for the grant application. 

The acknowledgement of this written assurance by the governing body is necessary to complete the grant application requirements.

For the above reason, the Municipal Courts Department respectfully requests that City Council approve this ordinance.
