The Houston Health Department (HHD) requests City Council authorize a third amendment to an agreement for the Clinical Management Information System (CMIS) between the City of Houston and OCHIN Inc. The third amendment extends the term of the contract from March 31, 2019 to June 30, 2019.
The third amendment will enable HHD to complete the negotiations with OCHIN for a new long term contract for continued support and maintenance of the system.
The CMIS is an electronic medical records (EMR) system used at HHD health centers and dental clinics. The EMR system includes information about a patient's health history, such as diagnoses, medicines, tests, allergies, immunizations, and treatment plans. EMR's can be seen by all healthcare providers taking care of a patient in the same medical healthcare system, such as a City of Houston Health Center, and are used to help make recommendations about the patient's care. CMIS is an essential tool for HHD clinical staff.
