On December 5, 2018, City Council passed Item #21 related to Ordinance No. 2018-953 approving and authorizing amendments to contracts for Routine HIV Screening Services between the City and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (“UT”), and Harris County Hospital District, dba Harris Health System (“Harris Health”), respectively, and approved an increase to the maximum contract amounts for both contracts by seeking to amend from Ordinance No. 2014-676. However, while Ordinance No. 2014-676 was correctly cited for UT’s funding increase in Ordinance No. 2018-953, the maximum contract amount increase for Harris Health was incorrectly cited in Ordinance No. 2018-953 and should have cited to Ordinance 2018-288 instead.
The purpose of this ordinance is to correct the second clause in Ordinance No. 2018-953 pertaining to the maximum contract amount increases, to include both Ordinance No. 2014-676 for UT and Ordinance No. 2018-288 for Harris Health. The new allocations and new maximum contract amounts for both contracts are correct and do not need to be changed.
For the above reason, the Legal Department respectfully requests that City Council approve this ordinance.
