Summary:

RECOMMENDATION from Director Houston Public Works for approval of final contract amount of $749,997.80 and acceptance of work on contract with CLEANSERVE, INC for Storm Sewer Cleaning and Television Inspection for Small Diameter Pipe Project Work Order Contract FY 2012 - DISTRICTS C - COHEN; G - TRAVIS and H - CISNEROS

Background:

SUBJECT: Accept Work for Storm Sewer Cleaning and Television Inspection for Small Diameter Pipe Project Work Order Contract FY 2012.

 

RECOMMENDATION: (SUMMARY) Pass a motion to approve the final Contract Amount of $749,997.80 and accept the work.

 

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project was part of the Houston Public Works, Storm Water Maintenance Branch program and is required to clean and televise existing underground storm sewer system.

DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: The original contract was approved by City Council on June 20, 2012 by Ordinance 2012-0576.  This project consisted of cleaning and post television inspection of the storm sewer lines to remove all debris that may obstruct the flow of storm water and obtain quality video of the work performed. The Work Orders were provided on an on-call basis. The project was awarded to CleanServe, Inc. with an original Contract Amount of $750,000.00.  The contract duration for this project was 730 calendar days.

LOCATION: The project areas are in various locations in Council Districts C, G, and H.

CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST: The Contractor, CleanServe, Inc. has completed the work under the subject Contract. The project was completed within the original Contract time. The final cost of the project, including overrun and underrun of estimated unit price is $749,997.80. The decreased cost is a result of the difference between planned and measured quantities.

 

 

M/WSBE PARTICIPATION:. No City M/WBE participation goal was established for this project as the contract amount did not exceed the threshold of $1,000,000.00 required for a goal oriented contract per Section 15-82 of the Code of Ordinances.
