RECOMMENDATION: Award construction contract.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: The General Services Department recommends that City Council award a construction contract to ERC Environmental & Construction Services, Inc. on the low bid amount of $181,453.59 to provide construction services for the McGovern-Stella Link Library Hurricane Harvey Renovation project for the Houston Public Library.
Currently, the McGovern-Stella Link Library is closed while awaiting renovation to repair flood damage incurred during Hurricane Harvey. This project will provide the repairs necessary to re-open the library for public use.
PROJECT LOCATION: 7405 Stella Link Rd. (Key Map: 532J)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project involves the renovation of the public areas of the library including security gate repair; millwork replacement; refinishing window seats; replacing rubber base; electrical services; painting; and installing new flooring.
The contract duration for this project is 60 calendar days.

DISASTER RECOVERY NOTE: This item is related to the impact of Hurricane Harvey DR4332 and it is the City’s intent to seek reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”) and other eligible sources for such expenditures.
