Summary:

ORDINANCE approving and authorizing Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston and THE CITY OF PINEY POINT VILLAGE for improvements to Windermere Outfall located at 15 Windermere Lane - DISTRICT G - TRAVIS

Background:

SUBJECT:   Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston and the City of Piney Point Village for Improvements to Windermere Outfall located at 15 Windermere Lane.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston and City of Piney Point Village and accept funds in the amount of $406,688.75.

 

PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION:  The City of Houston and the City of Piney Point Village desire to enter into an agreement to improve the outfall located on a 10-foot wide easement between 14 and 15 Windermere Lane.  There is a 102-inch outfall owned and maintained by the City of Houston in this easement along with a 24-inch outfall owned and maintained by the City of Piney Point Village.  Since both outfalls need repair, the City of Houston will be procuring the construction contract for this work with the City of Piney Point Village reimbursing costs for the 24-inch outfall and 50% of the costs for easement restoration.

 

LOCATION:  The project area is generally bound by Windermere Lane on the north, Woodway Drive on the south, Buffalo Bayou on the east and Fondren Road on the west. This project is located in Key Map Grid 490U.

 

SCOPE OF THE AGREEMENT AND FEE:   The Engineer’s Estimate for construction costs is $406,688.75. The City of Piney Point Village will be remitting payment to City of Houston for actual costs of construction not to exceed the amount of $406,688.75 without prior consent and authorization of the City of Piney Point Village.   

 

FISCAL NOTENo significant Fiscal Operating Impact is anticipated as a result of this project.

 

ACTION RECOMMENDED:  It is recommended that City Council adopt an ordinance approving and authorizing an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Houston and City of Piney Point Village and accept funds in the amount of $406,688.75
