PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project was part of the City's Water Line Replacement Program. This program required to replace and upgrade water lines within the City to increase availability of water, improve circulation and fire protection.
DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: The project consisted of the construction of approximately 34,944 linear feet of 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch and 16-inch water lines, valves and appurtenances. Amani Engineering, Inc. designed the project with 270 calendar days allowed for construction. The project was awarded to RESICOM, INC. with original Contract amount of $2,353,895.50.

CONTRACT COMPLETION and COST: The Contractor, Resicom, Inc., has completed the work under the subject Contract. The project was completed on time and with an additional 227 days approved by Change Orders No. 1 and 2. The final cost of the project, including overrun and underrun of estimated unit price quantities and previously approved Change Orders No. 2 and 3 is $2,377,749.40, an increase of $23,853.90 or 1.01% over the original Contract Amount.
The increased cost is a result of difference between planned and measured quantities and previously approved Change Order No. 2, which was necessary to complete the project.
M/WBE PARTICIPATION: The M/WBE goal established for this project was 20%. According to Office of Business Opportunity, the participation was 19.35%. Contractor's M/WBE performance evaluation was rated Satisfactory. |
