RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) It is recommended City Council approve a motion declining the acceptance of, rejecting, and refusing the dedication of Basin Street from, the south right-of-way line of Wingate Street south to the north right-of-way line of Mobile Street, located within the Port Houston Addition, out of John R. Harris One League Grant, S.S.B.B. Parcel SY17-047
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: Jim Vo, on behalf of The Port of Houston Authority of Harris County, Texas (Port of Houston), 111 East Loop North, Houston, Texas 77029, (Ricky Kunz, Chief Commercial Officer), requested the non-acceptance of Basin Street from, the south right-of-way line of Wingate Street south to the north right-of-way line of Mobile Street, located within the Port Houston Addition, out of John R. Harris One League Grant, S.S.B.B. Basin Street has never been paved or used for utility purposes. Further, the City has identified no future need for this street. Port of Houston, the abutting property owner, plans to incorporate the subject street into its abutting property for future development. The Joint Referral Committee reviewed and approved this request.
