SUBJECT: Accept Work for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation by Cured-In-Place Pipe Method.
RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) Pass a motion to approve the final contract amount of $3,385,877.77, which is 1.24% under the original contract amount, accept the work, and authorize final payment.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: Under this project, the contractor provided sanitary sewer rehabilitation by cured-in-place pipe method to deteriorated sewer collection systems throughout the City.
DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: This project consisted of sanitary sewer rehabilitation by cured-in-place pipe method. The project was awarded to Layne Inliner, LLC with an original contract amount of $3,428,238.93. The Notice to Proceed date was 06/26/2014 and the project had 540 calendar days for completion.
LOCATION: This work order project was located at various locations within Council Districts A, B, C, D, F, G, H, I, J and K.
CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST: The contractor, Layne Inliner, LLC, has completed the work under the contract. The contract was completed within the contract time with an additional 240 days approved by Change Order No 1 and No. 2. The final cost of the project is $3,385,877.77, a decrease of $42,361.16 or 1.24% under the original contract amount. Fewer sewer cleanouts were needed than anticipated.
The final amount of this work order contract was not affected by Change Orders No. 1 and No. 2.
MWDBE PARTICIPATION: The MWDBE goal for this project was 21.66%. According to the Office of Business Opportunity, the actual participation was 23.55%. The contractor was awarded an “Satisfactory” rating from the Office of Business Opportunity.
