SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:Henry and Tania Newinn, 1025 Backhaw Street, Houston, Texas 77079, the abutting property owners, requested to repurchase from the City of Houston a 6,420 square-foot easement, being a portion of Lot 7, Block 3, Addicks Dam Subdivision. The subject property was condemned by the City of Houston for the Park Row Paving Project. The City’s Project was canceled and thereafter the Energy Corridor District completed the acquisition of the parcels needed for the Project which included a re-route of the roadway north of Mr. and Mrs. Newinn’s property. Since the roadway was re-routed the subject property is no longer needed by the City of Houston for right-of-way purposes. Under §21.101 of the Texas Property Code, the property owner has the right to repurchase the condemned property for the fair market value of the property at the time the project was canceled.
Henry and Tania Newinn have complied with the Texas Property Code requirements, have accepted the City’s offer, and have rendered payment in full.
