Chapter 33, Section 33-222 allows for City Council to designate a Landmark or Protected Landmark upon application by property owner.
This application for Landmark designation of the Petroleum Building at 1314 Texas Street was initiated by the owners, CS HPB, LLC.
A public hearing was held on September 21, 2017, by the Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission and there were no objections to the designation. The Houston Archaeological and Historical Commission determined that the application satisfied applicable criteria of the ordinance and unanimously recommended approval of the Landmark designation.
