ORDINANCE consenting to the addition of 5.334 acres of land to NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 19, for inclusion in its district

Background:

SUBJECT: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 5.3340 acres to Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 19 (Key Map No. 250S).  

RECOMMENDATION: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 5.3340 acres to Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 19 be approved. 

SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 19 has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add 5.3340 acres, located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City, to the district. 

The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.   

The district is located in the vicinity of Preserve Way, Kuykendahl Road, Timbercrest Village Drive, and Elmfield Drive. The district desires to add 5.3340 acres, thus yielding a total of 1,099.0618 acres. The district is served by a District plant, Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 19 Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 1. The nearest major drainage facility for Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 19 is Metzler Creek which flows to Cannon Gully, then to Willow Creek which flows into Cypress Creek, then to Spring Creek, and finally into the San Jacinto River.

Potable water is provided by the district. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.   

The Utility District Review Committee recommends that the subject petition be approved.
