SUBJECT: Accept Work for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation by Sliplining and Pipe Bursting Methods.
RECOMMENDATION: (Summary) Pass a motion to approve the final contract amount of
$5,165,400.40, which is 0.21% under the original contract amount, accept the work, and authorize final payment.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: Under this project, the contractor provided sanitary sewer rehabilitation by sliplining and pipe bursting methods to deteriorated sewer collection systems throughout the City.
DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: This project consisted of sanitary sewer rehabilitation by sliplining and pipe bursting methods. The project was awarded to PM Construction & Rehab, LLC with an original contract amount of $5,176,042.25. The Notice to Proceed date was 11/07/2012 and the project had 730 calendar days for completion.
LOCATION: This work order project was located at various locations within Council Districts A, B, C, H, I and J.
CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST: The contractor, PM Construction & Rehab, LLC, has completed the work under the contract. The contract was completed within the contract time. The final cost of the project is $5,165,400.40, a decrease of $10,641.85 or 0.21% under the original contract amount. Less pipe bursting was needed than anticipated.
The final amount of this work order contract was not affected by Change Orders No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4.
MWDBE PARTICIPATION: The MWDBE goal for this project was 24.00%. According to the Office of Business Opportunity, the actual participation was 26.74%. The contractor was awarded an “Outstanding” rating from the Office of Business Opportunity.
