SUBJECT: Accept Work for Pump and Lift Station Renewal and Replacement: Horsepen Gully, Scenic Green, Rankin, Green’s Bayou Crossing No. 1 and No. 2 Lift Stations: WBS No. R-000267-0123-4.
RECOMMENDATION: (SUMMARY) Pass a motion to approve the final Contract Amount of $5,817,457.19 or 2.20% under the original Contract Amount, accept the Work and authorize final payment.
PROJECT NOTICE/JUSTIFICATION: This project was part of the City’s ongoing Lift Station Renewal and Replacement program.
DESCRIPTION/SCOPE: This project consisted of rehabilitation of five lift stations. The scope included new lift station developments for Horsepen Gully, Rankin and Scenic Green along with rehabilitation of Greens Bayou Crossing No. 1 and No. 2 Lift Stations. Infrastructure Associates, Inc., designed the project with 1095 calendar days allowed for construction. The project was awarded to Industrial TX Corp., with an original Contract Amount of $5,948,327.00

CONTRACT COMPLETION AND COST: The Contractor, Industrial TX Corp., has completed the work under the subject Contract. The project was completed within the original Contract time. The final cost of the project, including overrun and underrun of estimated unit price quantities and previously approved Change Order Nos. 1 - 4 is $5,817,457.19, a decrease of $130,869.81 or 2.20% under the original Contract Amount. The decreased cost is a result of the difference between planned and measured quantities.
M/WSBE PARTICIPATION: The M/WBE goal established for this project was 18.20%. According to Office of Business Opportunity, the participation was 31.27%. Contractor’s M/WBE performance evaluation was rated Outstanding.
