SUBJECT: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 0.6093 acres to Porter Municipal Utility District (Key Map No. 295D).
RECOMMENDATION: Petition for the City’s consent to the addition of 0.6093 acres to Porter Municipal Utility District be approved.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION: Porter Municipal Utility District has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add 0.6093 acres, located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City, to the district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Canterbury Lane, Sorters Road, FM 1314, and Old Sorters Road. The district desires to add 0.6093 acres, thus yielding a total of 3,966.7470 acres. The district is served by a regional plant, the Porter Municipal Utility District Wastewater Treatment Facility, which serves Woodridge Municipal Utility District, in addition to Porter Municipal Utility District. The nearest major drainage facility for Porter Municipal Utility District is Bens Branch, which flows into Lake Houston.
Potable water will provided by Porter Special Utility District. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
The Utility District Review Committee recommends that the subject petition be approved.
