RECOMMENDATION from Director Administration & Regulatory Affairs Department for the designation of a residential parking permit area in the Super Neighborhoods of Afton Oaks/River Oaks, Washington Avenue Coalition/Memorial Park and Greenway/Upper Kirby - DISTRICTS C - COHEN and G - TRAVIS

The Administration and Regulatory Affairs Department recommends that the following proposed area be designated as Residential Permit Parking (RPP) areas and that a valid permit be required for on-street parking at the times of day and days of the week specified below and in the attachment.

RPP# 020416-23-260:

• Location: 2500 block of Eastside (between Westheimer and Locke), east side
• Date/Time: Monday – Sunday, 10 AM – 10 PM, tow-away zone

RPP# 020516-22-261

• Location: 4200-4300 block of Lillian (between Snover and Olive) and the 700-800 block of Olive (between Lillian and Blossom)
• Date/Time: Wednesday – Sunday, 10 PM – 5 AM, tow-away zone

RPP# 030816-23-263

• Location: 2300 block of Steel at Revere
• Date/Time: Monday – Sunday,  10 AM – 11 PM, tow-away zone

Chapter 26, Section 26-311 of the City of Houston’s Code of Ordinances provides for the creation of Residential Permit Parking areas in neighborhoods where excessive commuter parking is deemed a problem for residents. To date, 154 permit areas have been designated.

The Administration & Regulatory Affairs and Public Works and Engineering Departments reviewed the applications and held a public hearing on June 27, 2016 to discuss and ensure any outstanding issues with the proposed areas were satisfactorily resolved within the community. The required public hearing notice was sent to all addresses within a 200’ boundary of the requested zones as well as to the Washington Avenue Coalition/Memorial Super Neighborhood, the River Oaks Management District, and the Upper Kirby Management District.
