SUBJECT: AMENDING Ordinance Number 2015-737 which passed on August 5, 2015, to include the acquisition of Parcels AY16-023, AY16-038, KY16-084, and revised Parcel AY15-068 for the WEST ALABAMA STREET PAVING AND DRAINAGE PROJECT (from Weslayan Street to Buffalo Speedway) by dedication, purchase, or condemnation.

RECOMMENDATION: (Summary)
It is recommended that Ordinance Number 2015-737 which passed on August 5, 2015, be amended to authorize and approve the acquisition of Parcels AY16-023, AY16-038, KY16-084 and revised Parcel AY15-068 for the WEST ALABAMA STREET PAVING AND DRAINAGE PROJECT (from Weslayan Street to Buffalo Speedway) by dedication, purchase, or condemnation.
SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
This project will replace a street that has been deteriorated beyond economical repair and normal maintenance. It will provide for the right-of-way acquisition, design and construction of a four-lane undivided concrete roadway with storm drainage, curbs, sidewalks, driveways, street lighting, traffic control and necessary underground utilities to improve traffic circulation, mobility and drainage in the service area and upgrade the existing roadway to Major Thoroughfare Freeway Plan (MTFP) standards.
By Ordinance Number 2015-737, City Council authorized and approved the acquisition of parcels by dedication, purchase, or condemnation for the WEST ALABAMA STREET PAVING AND DRAINAGE PROJECT (from Weslayan Street to Buffalo Speedway). Since the ordinance was passed, Parcels AY16-023, AY16-038, KY16-084 were added to the project and Parcel AY15-068 was revised due to design changes.
Therefore, it is recommended that Council Ordinance Number 2015-737 be amended to include Parcels AY16-023, AY16-038, KY16-084 and revised Parcel AY15-068.
