SPECIFIC EXPLANATION:
Kleinwood Municipal Utility District has petitioned the City of Houston for consent to add 4.6695 acres of land, located in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction, to the district.
The Utility District Review Committee has evaluated the application with respect to wastewater collection and treatment, potable water distribution, storm water conveyance, and other public services.
The district is located in the vicinity of Cypresswood Drive, Champion Forest Drive, Louetta Road, and Stuebner Airline Drive. The district desires to add 4.6695 acres, thus yielding a total of 684.6095 acres. The district is served by a Regional Plant, the Kleinwood Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The other districts served by this plant are Cy-Champ Public Utility District, Cypress Forest Public Utility District, Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 114, Louetta North Public Utility District, and Klein Independent School District. The nearest major drainage facility for Kleinwood Municipal Utility District is Cypress Creek, which flows into Spring Creek, then to the San Jacinto River, and finally to Lake Houston.
Potable water is provided by the district. By executing the Petition for Consent, the district has acknowledged that all plans for the construction of water conveyance, wastewater collection, and storm water collection systems within the district must be approved by the City of Houston prior to their construction.
The Utility District Review Committee recommends that the subject petition be approved.
