The Administration and Regulatory Affairs Department recommends that the following proposed areas be designated as residential parking permit areas and that a valid permit be required for on-street parking at the dates/times specified below and in the attachment.
RPP# 080814-24-237:
- Locations: 1300 block of Hyde Park Boulevard, between Waugh Drive and Van Buren Street
- Date/Time: Monday–Sunday, 8 AM – 8 PM; tow-away zone
RPP# 090414-28-238:
- Location: 1700 block of Wroxton Court at Ashby Street
- Date/Time: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM; tow-away zone
RPP# 102714-28-244:
- Location: 5100 block of Morningside Drive (Westside), between Tangley Road and Robinhood Street
- Date/Time: Monday–Sunday, 9 AM – 10 PM; tow-away zone
Chapter 26, Section 26-311 of the City of Houston’s Code of Ordinances provides for the creation of residential parking permit areas in neighborhoods where excessive commuter parking is deemed a problem for residents. To date, 144 permit areas have been designated.
The Administration and Regulatory Affairs and Public Works and Engineering Departments reviewed applications submitted by area residents. A public hearing was held on March 11, 2015 to discuss and ensure any outstanding issues with the proposed areas were satisfactorily resolved within the community. The required public hearing notice was sent to all addresses within a 200’ boundary of each requested area as well as to the active super neighborhood contacts provided by the Department of Neighborhoods. Notice for the public hearing was also sent to the active civic groups for each of the requested areas. The findings and related regulations for the proposed areas are attached.
